Doo-Wop!

This past weekend there was a Doo-Wop musical festival at Penn’s Landing! The festival was a fundraiser for U.S. veterans. If you want to read more about it you can do that here (the site has music!) Penn’s landing is also in olde city (near the furniture stores from the previous post).  Billy (also in M.Arch) and I went down to check it out before heading to studio on Sunday. You can take the #21 bus or the blue line from Meyerson to Penn’s landing – both within a block or 2 of Meyerson, and about a 10-15 minute ride either way. It’s cheaper to buy tokens in the subway station ($1.55) and then use those for the bus as well (the bus is a flat rate of $2).

It was a beautiful day!

Hello world!

Hello world! Welcome to my blog, my name is Margaret and I’m currently starting my first year in Penn Design’s Master of Architecture program. I received my BFA in industrial design from Carnegie Mellon in 2010 and am interested in the grey area between architecture and industrial design. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have about Penn or otherwise. Best to use mgerhart@design.upenn.edu!

We had our first day of 501 yesterday! After the race to get our studio desks and meeting our critics we got to explore the city a bit to research furniture. A bunch of us went to 3rd street which is where olde city is. Here’s some of what we found.
